He offered her a tiny smile, but it grew into a much more fond expression as Susan talked about her son. He loved watching her talk about him, the way her face transformed. Yes, motherhood really suited her. "Mum had to re-proof everything as we came along, although I know she had a terrible time with the twins." He laughed. "I can remember this one time-"
Breaking off suddenly, Charlie smiled a little sadly. "Apparently this doesn't feel like the time for one of those stories." He shook his head and took a few more bites of his food. "Well, if you need any help..."
