For a moment, it seemed either that the young woman was ignoring him or had not heard him at all. Adrian didn't exactly blame her if it was the former; a young woman had every right and reason to be cautious in a situation such as this. All the same, he felt a momentary bit of pleasure when she did stop and turn around, walking back to where the object had dropped. He'd had every intention to retrieve it himself, but she was too fast.
Finally getting a good look at her face when she looked up at him, Adrian realised that she looked a bit familiar. "It was the least I could do." He offered her his hand to help her stand again, as well as a smile. "You will forgive me, but I feel like I know you from somewhere. Possibly from school?"
