"That sounds really familiar," Mel said. "I can't imagine four brothers. My two are pretty rowdy on their own, but I also have two sisters, so we manage to keep them in check. Mostly." She smiled at the thought. It had only been a few days since she'd seen everyone, but she was looking forward to calmer time with them. "Hopefully things won't be too hectic this year. I've got a new nephew," she explained. "We spent a lot of last week at the hospital with him, but my brother and his wife finally got to bring him home yesterday. I think everyone's ready for a bit of quiet celebration."
Timothy mentioned the ball, and she nodded. It wasn't the sort of event to which she usually flocked very eagerly, but with that sort of cause on the table, she wouldn't have missed it for anything. "I bought a ticket last week," she said. "It sounds like it's going to be nice. I didn't go to last year's event, but my editor said they're always very well put together."
