"Oh, that I can understand," Hermione replied, joining in Hestia's laughter. "I probably don't need seven kittens either, as much as I might like them. That said - and don't tell Ron - I can actually see being an old cat lady having its merits."
Nodding as Hestia asked about Ginny, she gave a small shrug. "As well as can be expected I suppose. It's been a little bit crazy for all of us lately but I think she's managing okay." Apart from fighting with Harry and quitting her job of course, but Hermione didn't think that was really hers to tell. "Since Hogwarts, I've just been working at the Ministry, within the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures." Pausing, she lowered her voice a little. "Though, to be perfectly honest I don't know how much longer I may be there for." Hestia may not have seen any articles on Hermione lately, but she was hoping she would see the ad when it was printed. "I heard you were at St Mungo's now? How is that going?"
It was always pleasing to know that there were good students going into her old house, and she was happy to hear that Hestia's daughter was one of them. "Oh, really? You must be proud. And more like me?" Hermione repeated, "You mean boring, bookish and afraid of heights?" Smiling, she nudged Hestia with her elbow.
