Hermione nodded as Hestia said she was good. It was a standard answer, and one that she was quite willing to accept just as her own had been. People rarely wanted the unfiltered truth when they asked how you were anyway, so it mattered little if you didn't want to give it.
"I can see the cuteness even from here," Hermione said with a sigh, a smile crossing her face. "I think that's why I'm so reluctant to go in. I ended up with Crookshanks that way." Not that he was cute per se, more of a menace, particularly in Ron's eyes. But she loved him anyway.
"You didn't find anything you liked?" she asked, as Hestia mentioned looking for a cat too. "I actually live with Ginny as well," Hermione explained, "But Crookshanks is our only furry friend at the moment." She thought it sounded a little lonely, having only a dog for company.
