Eli lead Katie over to the couch. He eased her down onto the cushions. "Don't apologise," he said. "It's understandable." He walked into the kitchen and poured a glass of water then he grabbed a napkin from the table. He handed both to Katie. "Sometimes talking about someone we've lost helps us to deal with it. There's no reason to keep it inside. I don't mind." And he truly didn't. Emotions never frightened him or startled him or even shocked him. His twin sister Annette was a whirlwind of emotions, so he was quite used to riding out mood swings.
"Tell me about Neville," Eli said. "Tell me the good memories you have of him. We can honour him that way."
