Lisa nearly choked on her beer. "Gone?" she said before she could even really think about it. She felt immediately ridiculous for the odd tone of her voice, and she wiped at her mouth and tried to cover it with something she hoped looked and sounded like curiosity. "As in gone-gone?"
She'd just seen him a fucking week ago, spent quite a bit of time with him, and he hadn't mentioned anything about leaving Pendragon's. Not that he was required to, but they did talk, even if a lot of their time was otherwise occupied. He could do whatever he liked, whenever he liked, but now she felt completely stupid for assuming he'd be here when he wasn't.
Maybe things with him weren't so different from her other friends after all.
Lisa hated that testing out all the various ales that Pendragon's had to offer sounded a lot better now even than it had a few minutes earlier. She just shook her head, smiling a bit. "No, I don't think that'll be necessary. If that was the direction I was aiming, I'd skip straight to the Aberdeen and not bother with beer."
She glanced down at the bar, grabbed a random picture, and held it up. "Photography. I'm in their advertising department."
