Leiland simply didn't understand why Gogmawth would run powerplays against them, why any of the individuals within this fortress would do anything that would mess with another. They were all on the same side. They all had the same goals. And while there was something to be said for pranks as the Vinguri had a fair amount of history of pulling good-natured jokes on each other, they would have hardly done anything that would have actively sabotaged the others. At least, not without it being for the benefit of their Lord. And Leiland couldn't imagine a situation where he'd have to do something like that.
And then Percival was doing that thing again, and Leiland couldn't help himself from glancing sideways at the spymaster. He was utterly unsure what looking at him would have even yielded. The Man (for he was, or at least had been, a man) was nothing more than a indistinct writhing black mass, defined only by the faintest of humanoid outline and the corvidesque facial protrusion. Likely a mask of some sort. Unless he was an unusually tall and verbose Kenku, and Leiland very much doubted that. But for all that looking at him gained Leiland nothing, it had seemed to be the thing to do in the moment.
"If this continues, these games are going to end in the destruction of our Lord when the Light ends up one step ahead of us," Leiland said with a sigh, turning away from Percival and muttering quietly to himself. "If this is because Zaul'Nazh is dithering with his daughter, they're both going to end up destroying all of us. I told our Lord that she was nothing but trouble when she arrived, and yet...."
And yet he was dismissed, told that he was overly paranoid and worrying about a thing that didn't need to be his concern, and that the Daughter of Darkness was only there to aide their cause. Though, it was honestly more like she was aiding his dick.
But Leiland wasn't bitter. Certainly not at all.
"I do appreciate that at least someone is reliable around here," Leiland said, sparing another glance at Percival. "So thank you for that."
