"No, you do know something," he said, even though he had no proof of this, "Or you can be used as a bargaining tool, or something. But you don't have to worry," he smiled a little, "I'm sure the Order doesn't torture people. I don't think Dumbledore would have it."
Maybe kidnapping a Death Eater was a really boneheaded idea, but Stephen was sure that somehow, he could make it work out. It couldn't have been that hard. His house was virtually undetectable and somehow he had the funny feeling it wouldn't be too hard to keep Matthew from attacking him, especially now that he'd dropped one of the few things that would have caused major problems for Stephen. "Accio wand," he said.
"Fuck your father," he said disdainfully, "Fuck your entire extended family, for all I care. It's a fucking injustice that you keep on like this with what you've done. And yet you stay 'Oooh I can't leave, what about this that and the other thing?' I bet you don't want to leave because, no matter what you say, you still support him. Well you know what? I never gave one solitary fuck about the war when it was happening, and while my lot might be better than a lot of other people's, I've still lost too much to be fucking satisfied. You're a problem, mate, so I guess you could say I'm getting rid of you. Make things better for the rest of us."
Stephen's expression had grown quite vicious by this point, and he seemed terribly sure of himself. "And you know what I'll do if you don't come with me? I'll take the wards off the conversations we had over journals. I might have done a bit of trouble, but I'm sure Bellatrix and her ilk would love to hear exactly what comrade Selwyn really thinks of them."
