This demand of Diana's was both good and bad. Good because the sooner Selwyn was gone the better off they'd all be (and the less likely James would be to wring his neck for him), and bad because Diana had given him plenty of reasons to go away angry - and who knew what the bastard would do when he left here, or if he'd even go quietly?
Still, being nice to him was very much out of the question at this point, and their long-held strategy of keeping their heads down and avoiding drawing notice had clearly gone out the window - so there was nothing for it but to plough ahead and get rid of him. They'd have to sort out their next move after.
