It was a little weird, what Stephen was doing right now. A bit shady, you could say, telling some kid who must have been about ten years younger than him to follow him to somewhere he hadn't quite described. If he had been in the kid's shoes, he probably wouldn't have followed him in any case, but there he was. Stephen was presently trying to calculate what, exactly, he was going to do, but for now he was just interested in getting somewhere they could talk.
He turned down a side street without answering the kid, looking this way and that for somewhere to hide for a moment. Then, without warning, he ducked down an alley, took off the Disillusionment Charm, and reappeared, nodding to the kid. He looked a little bit uncomfortable with being visible.
"They did," he said, rooting through his bag for something and finally pulling out a packet of crisps he figured he could live without and tossing it to the kid, "Broke it, but I still had it. Had to buy myself another one." He gave the kid a weird look. "Everyone's broke. Saved 'em the trouble of collecting 'em. Didn't yours?" It was about then that he decided he was finding someplace to Disapparate and the kid was just following him.
