There was no way he could have guessed that this moment would so suddenly turn for the best. Regulus had really expected the man to leave and that would be the very end of their interaction. He would go back to wandering around on the street and the man would do whatever he chose to --not even a glance shared between them ever again.
For a moment he hesitated. This could have been a trap, nevermind he had no reason to think that before now, though the fear was still there. But after a brief moment of reasoning with himself, Regulus stuffed his hands into his pockets and followed after the other, just glad that someone was willing to show him kindness today. This was probably going to be one of those better days he remembered for quite some time. If not only for the magic he had witnessed; it really had been too long.
Risking the integrity of his sanity (these were strangers around him, what did he care what they thought --well, he cared, but his curiosity outweighed that) Regulus cleared his throat as best he could and spoke, "Did...did they let you keep it?" He knew that many witches and wizards had lost their wands, he had been there for much of the planning for, what was then, the bright future. But now? He hadn't been able to keep up to date on the changes and whatnot, what about now?
