Carr kept his eyes on her face, doing his best not to look down. The people in here already thought he was some kind of pervert, he didn't want to encourage their opinion.
Draining his coffee, he smiled politely at the waitress. "Cheese and bacon burger, and a side of onion rings. Ta. Oh, and a refill." He moved his coffee cup nearer to the end of the table, still smiling as the waitress huffed a breath before refilling the cup and walking off.
"I'm not saying I'll walk past people in need of a hand," Carr assured her. "But I'm not going out of my way to do anything."
