In honesty, Riley couldn't imagine anyone wanting to be a cop. They were usually the least well-trained in any defensive scenario, the first to die in horror movies, and (besides the occasional good one), as a general rule, were the kind of person who went from being a dick in high school to being a dick with a badge.
Unprepared, huge egos, and no cool gadgets? That was just asking to be the first picked off.
"Oh, you know, I've always had a thing for...community. I'm proud of my town. It's a nice place to grow up, and all that jazz. Keeping it in line is my way of giving back. You know how it is, let one person break the rules and the whole town goes to Hell."
At that, Riley couldn't help but grin at the unintentional joke. This town was en route to Hell anyway, and this was one the PTA couldn't do anything about.
