Mary helped herself to one of the guns and two of the knives. She was her mother's daughter and she did like her knives. She also grabbed a vial of holy water and then looked up at her dad.
She didn't say a whole lot about them knowing where Jo had come from. She assumed he was referring to Heaven. The timing was about right for her to have returned from the dead.
"So we prepare for everything and expect anything," she said.
That was pretty much always the way of life for a hunter, but usually they knew more going into a situation. She didn't like this, but they couldn't stand around talking about it all day. Not when her mom was in trouble.
She took a step back from the trunk and looked at the woods.
"I'll follow you."
He was the one who knew where her mom was after all.
