Mary was still a little bit surprised at how calm her dad was about both her sister and her mother being missing. She didn't really know what to make of it, since the search of Jo's room had made it seem like her parents were already staying together. There was a part of her that wondered if he'd even loved her before Ellen had come along or if perhaps the love had come after the child that neither of them had planned on.
But then again, she supposed that time travel just screwed with your head and a lot of people might be disappointed upon meeting past versions of their parents. Her ears perked up when she heard Jo's name, but she didn't say anything-just stayed quiet and waited for some news. It was a good sign that her mother was okay and able to use a phone. She just hoped Ellen was with her.
Though really, if she'd been brought back for this, was it ever really that easy? The angels wouldn't have gone to the trouble if the disappearance was going to solve itself.
Which left a sinking feeling in the pit of Mary's stomach. Where was her sister?
