She was used to Thomas sleeping fitfully from time to time and took measures to keep from touching him when precautions hadn't been taken. Tonight had proven to be different than others. Fortunately, she had come home from entertaining a young man she had met at a bar, so when he practically threw himself out of bed and accidentally struck her in doing so she hadn't hurt him.
She had shrieked before she fell out of the bed from the knock across the face, but then she was rushing towards Thomas, stopping just out of reach in case he was too far gone in whatever nightmare he had been in.
