Mel would've found that funny, that she had to explain herself. Because she didn't do that--ever. She was who she was and what she was, take it or leave it.
Most people left it.
Still, she was staying in the Phoenix, too. So after she'd slept a little bit later, Mel got herself together and went to find Faith. She wanted to talk to Julian, too, since it'd been a few days since she'd seen him, and since she'd been dreaming about him.
It might be time to recognize all of that for what it was.
She found Faith's room, which was not that far from hers, at all, and knocked on the door.
Mel waited until the desk clerk was gone to look at the list of occupied rooms, which was happily written and not on a computer. She was still working computers out.
