This was her hell. Her nightmare. Her special torment. One of them anyway. She's had some new ones add themselves in since Chichen Itza, but this was the beginning. She was fucked, and she knew it. Her attention snapped onto the pyramid that led to the sacrifice. If she could get there it would be okay. She's told herself that a thousand, million times. She never could get there. Ever.
She felt herself beginning to believe the dream, make it real. Make it her own. She was losing. Murphy was in here with her, that she couldn't have.
"One of us." She tore her attention off of the pyramids to Karrin and looked the shorter woman dead in the eyes. It was safe to do that here. Her hands fisted into the front of Murphy's shirt and she gave her a little shake. "Tell him I love him."
Then she sneer, gritting her teeth together as she shoved Murphy's dream self. "WAKE UP!" And pushed her out of her own dream.
