Mel's eyes darkened. Anything that had been playful--and she was normally fairly playful--was gone completely. All that was left was a girl and a weapon. She almost snarled.
"A murderer," she answered.
Urkonn hadn't always been an enemy. But he'd killed Loo. He'd pushed Mel to get what he wanted. And she'd killed him for it.
"He can't swim."
Hopefully, this would work twice.
The bakery began to fill with water. Urkonn was big, but the ceiling was high enough that it just needed to clear his head. He was too heavy to climb onto a table or a counter without breaking it.
