Murphy locked eyes with Carr. She wasn't threatening, but there was something in her eyes that hinted at a ferocity that would be unleashed if someone hurt anyone she cared about.
"She is a good young woman," she emphasized. "She's been through a lot."
It wasn't fair to refer to Molly as a kid, but to emphasize the fact that she was younger than Carr, definitely. Though she supposed that he clearly understood the point. She just hoped he wasn't the type to take advantage of the certain ways in which Molly was naive.
"She's had better months," she said, glancing down at her beer and her features relaxing now that she'd established that she was going to look out for Molly if she had to. "The holidays have been tough on her. Which makes me glad that it's January."
January meant no big family holidays for quite awhile. In fact, the only holiday on the horizon was Valentine's Day which might bring up other issues, particularly if she and Harry got to a point where there was enough going on that Molly needed to know about them by then.
Which, at the pace Harry moved, was probably pretty big assumption.
