Karrin Murphy wasn't getting anywhere with either of her cases.
Or rather, she'd learned enough to know what she was up against. In fact, she'd seemed to have learned everything there was to know except how to make the demon that was possessing police officers show itself, and how to kill the demon that was after Phaedra and carving up victims to get her attention.
She hadn't seen Harry in awhile, though that was par for the course with Harry. He tended to get lost in his work and there was a lot of it.
While she wouldn't have minded a chance to actually move forward from that kiss, there was a part of her that was relieved that that discussion had been put on hold. It was a little terrifying, crossing that line. She still didn't know exactly what lay on the other side but she had a feeling that she was already in over her head.
She'd always known that a relationship with Harry wasn't one that she'd walk away with, heart in tact. It would either work or it wouldn't. And she'd had yet to experience a relationship that worked in the long-term.
So, with all of those things weighing on her mind, it was time to blow off a little steam.
She smiled in response to the bartender's pleasant brogue. He was fairly easy on the eyes, which didn't hurt things all that much.
