Jo raised an eyebrow. It did sound suspiciously like a pick-up line. And as much as she'd wondered what might have happened if she'd taken him up on that 'last night on Earth' speech, she was still going to resolutely cling to the whole self respect thing. It might not keep her warm at night, but was better than waking up alone the morning after.
And it was definitely better than complicating things with her only friend here.
"You do know I can take care of myself, right? I mean, you made sure that I have all the basics-salt, devil's traps, weapons. If anything tries to get in, I'm ready for it."
It didn't quite sink in that he was worried about more than just something getting in. If she'd realized that he was worried the resurrection might be a one day thing, she might have been forced to admit that the same thought had crossed her mind more than once today. Instead, she was just fixated on the idea that she needed protection from things. She might not have been hunting all her life like Dean, but she had more than proven herself in the time that she'd been hunting with her Mom.
In an attempt to lighten the mood, she gave Dean a playful nudge.
"Nice try though. A little more inventive than the 'last night on Earth' shtick."
