Jo didn't have a badge, but luckily Pete seemed to buy Dean's badge. She sat down and gave him a small smile.
"We were wondering if there was any sort of pattern to the deaths. Anything unusual you might have noticed would be helpful."
Pete chuckled and shook his head.
"Hoo boy, well if you want unusual-you've got it. Can't say so much for a pattern though. I've seen everything from people turning up with holes in their neck, drained of all their blood to wild animal mauling to murders that look like they were done as part of some devil worship ritual to every other weird thing you can think of. There have been all sorts of whispers and crazy stories out there. But I know one thing-you two had better do your investigating during the day." He nodded to Dean. "You keep your pretty little partner inside at night, you hear?"
Jo did her best not to roll her eyes, but instead exchanged a look with Dean. Most hunts involved just one monster or a group of the same type of monsters. Assuming the undertaker wasn't exaggerating, they were dealing with a whole menagerie of things that went bump in the night.
Well, Dean had said that something big was going down. It was starting to look like she might end up needing a more long-term living situation than the motel.
