Jo met Dean's eyes and shook her head slowly. As much as she wanted to just brush this off and move on, no she wasn't okay. She was tired of waking up and realizing that she'd missed time and tired of not knowing what was happening to her and tired of Dean acting a little strange toward her.
"I could ask you the same question, assuming you'd give me a straight answer." She gave him a sad half-smile.
She sighed and looked away.
"Look, you've been acting a little weird ever since that soulgaze. And now I've been missing-what, a month? And when I come back, you give me a peck on the cheek and keep your distance? The way I figure it, you either saw something you didn't like and don't know how to break things off or you think I somehow gave you the great big privacy-invading stare on purpose."
She took a sip of her coffee and then forced herself to meet his eyes again. She was a little worried that he would say it was the first option, but she had to know if that was the case. She didn't want to put him in the position of feeling like she had to stay here just because he felt responsible for her.
"If it's the first thing, well there's not a whole lot either of us can do about that. And if it's the second," she shrugged. "All I can say is that I didn't do it on purpose. I was so freaked out on that day that I didn't have the time to connect the dots between 'don't look Harry in the eye' to 'don't look people in the eye when you find yourself in a wizard's body.'"
