It might have been easier, had Harry and Karrin been on the same page. Harry could have conveyed the results of his interview with Anita, etc. Of course, Anita had no idea that there had been a disconnect in communication on that front. All she knew was that she needed to plug in somewhere. She'd met people, but she was starting to feel like she was sitting around, twiddling her thumbs, and that was never a good thing.
She saw the petite, blonde Lieutenant sitting at her desk, and had two thoughts. Either they would have a lot in common, and she would like the woman immediately; or they would become best enemies, the way thing so often wend down when Anita met a fellow female with a badge. She was hoping for the former.
"Lieutenant Murphy?" she asked as she approached the desk. Her badge was on her belt, but she tried not to flash it any more than she had to--not wanting to come off like she was rubbing people's noses in her status as a federal marshal and start a jurisdictional pissing contest. She was here to help, not to take over the show. "I'm Anita Blake. Thanks for meeting with me today."
