Mel was starting to think it really didn't take much effort to get her to blush, and that up until this point, she'd just managed to be entirely shut off to her blushing capability.
Well, she'd been busy. Saving the world.
"Good," she said, standing up and grabbing her backpack.
Before she headed out of the room--which was probably going to be a lot more difficult to explain to anyone who saw her exit than her actual arrival had been--Mel decided to do Julian a favor. The nurses had put the remote control for the TV up on top of the thing, where he couldn't get it. Jerks. Mel grabbed it, muttering "How can you stand this cake lady?" under her breath. She flipped through the channels, past the news and some nature show with otters that, while cute, would probably bore him to tears after a while, too.
Mel hadn't seen a lot of movies, but after her encounter with Harry, she'd made a little time to see a few. Some of them were kinda famous. And some of them were kinda relevant.
She stopped when she got to some movie channel. She knew this one. It was called The Fifth Element. It was really colorful, which was the main reason she left it on, tossing Julian the remote.
But it was also a little bit perfect. The future. Flying cars, just like home. And a woman who wasn't quite human who had to save the world.
She could hear someone coming to check on him, too. Heels coming down the hallway. Mel perched in the window for a second and gave Julian a smile before swandiving out of it.
It was only the fourth floor. She'd jumped further and landed on her face in Haddyn before breakfast.
