"Wow, I must've made an impression," Mel said. She looked from the drawing to Julian's face, then back, pretty sure she was blushing again. Most of the impressions she made involved getting thrown out of places. Or running from the police. Or Erin's severe disappointment in her.
"Y'know, one day, stuff you make is going to be a big deal," she said, confidently.
You have a cell phone?
She stopped herself from saying she didn't understand how cell phones worked. Everything in the future was head sets, and automated, and infinitely more and less complex at the same time. She also stopped herself from saying that the Watcher's Council wouldn't spring for one and she hadn't been able to steal one yet.
"Do you ask out all the girls that climb through your window?" Mel asked, a slight laugh evident in her voice.
