Dawn wouldn't need the fast reflexes; Fray had 'em.
Mel sort of rolled off Dawn and stumbled only slightly, regaining her balance just in time to see the girl knock her stuff all over. She'd had a pretty good armload of books when she lost her balance, it looked like. Mel smiled at her.
"Hey, I'm still standing, no apology necessary," she said. She shrugged the backpack up higher on her back and bent down to help the girl pick up her books.
This looked like more than just light reading. A lot of it was York history stuff, and the books weren't all small. There was something about the asylum, too, and that book looked like it'd been checked out often.
"Light reading?" she asked, piling a few books together.
