Everyone was leery of the idea. Harry'd read him the riot act, and it'd ending with the extended, director's cut of pain soul gaze. Dean didn't even like the idea, but there were only so many ways to get answers in this place.
It was quite a commentary on the lives of both brothers that the 'hunter from the future' part just didn't phase Sam very much.
That's... good news. Right?
Dean smiled, sadly.
He was in love with Jo. He was also realizing he'd been in love with her before she died, and just stupid about it. Dean had the emotional maturity of a teenage boy, at best, and at that point? He was even less mature. But when he saw her standing outside the motel, Dean was pretty sure everything went wrong and right at the same time. The devil. Did you get him? Did the colt work?
"I want it to be," he said. "I'm... we're..." He couldn't get the words out, so decided to sit on them for a second.
"Jo got pulled out of Heaven," he said. "We're trying to figure out why."
When Dean said it, his voice was very serious. How could it not be? He'd seen Jo's soul, he knew what her Heaven was. He knew what it felt like to be ripped out of that. And he knew that it didn't look good, if those demons they'd seen on the hotel security tape were any indication.
