Phaedra had seen it all, in his blood. And while she could appreciate that the Senior Partners were truly terrifying, and understand that, yes, they wanted Lindsey, and wanted him to suffer... he really had not put up any fight with Saerian.
"You had a choice," she said. The sentence was almost gutteral. There was no doubt in her mind there had been a choice. She hadn't had one, with Saerian in her dream, taking over her head, destroying her human life. That was *not* having a choice.
Phaedra was utterly disgusted, and it was clear on her face. There was no point in hiding it.
"You of all people should understand why you don't make a deal with something like him," she said, getting to her feet and standing over Lindsey. "Distract the vampire," she said, arching her eyebrow. "While he kills more people, and I'm one of the only things that could slow him down?" She shook her head, dark strands of hair falling into her face.
