Dean wasn't hugely shocked when the guy told him it was a girl. He smiled, very slightly, not sure if this guy was incredibly stupid or just more of a threat than he looked like. Something was familiar. Really familiar. Was there a picture of this guy in Dad's journal? Dean couldn't put his finger on it, so he let it go, for now.
A girl.
"Lotta stuff's about a girl," Dean said. He thought of the Kleynach demons he'd seen on that video tape, and Jo coming back, and how different his life was now because of it. "Go figure."
He leaned on the bar and started to say something when the door behind his new drinking buddy swung inward, Phaedra gliding through it in that way she had of being forceful but graceful at the same time.
The smile sort of fell off of Dean's face, faltered. He didn't hate her; it was more that he was really disappointed in himself for beginning to think of her as a real person.
