Meeting Anita had given Justine more hope than she had expected to find in this small town. She had come away with more information than she thought she would find. She had just been looking for someone to dally with so that she could help Thomas as often as she could, but came away with so much more.
Thomas hadn't been home when she got in. That hadn't been surprising. She busied herself with putting away more of their belongings then changed into one of the many pairs of footie pajamas and curled up with a quilt and pillows on a couch to watch some tv until Thomas came home.
She was asleep in her little nest when he got home with late night programming softly coming from television, the light of the screen being the only thing illuminating the room. She awoke when he called her name and smiled sleepily up at him.
