"Knees," Julian muttered. "Take out a leg. Or a hip."
He stepped out from behind the older boy, not moving in front of him, but aside. The Wolfman's muzzle immediately turned to him, and nostrils flared as like recognized like.
Not like enough.
The Wolfman growled, then lifted his massive head to the skies and howled. It was a sound designed to strike cold, brutal fear into the hearts of mankind, to remind them of darkness and caves, when this sound was death to any who ventured out.
Julian met the eyes of the beast, his own lip curling in a snarl. "Take. A. Shot." He shifted aside again, giving the hunter a clearer line to the monster's limbs as it turned to follow his movements.
