Mel went, too. The mummy didn't seem to be a threat anymore, but if it dropped that unicorn, they might have big problems.
"Nope," she said. "Guy in a tent at the fair gave it to me. Said it was mine."
She rounded a corner behind the blond woman and looked around. Her eyes weren't really adjusted to the darkness; bright lights were placed here and there throughout the maze, making the adjustments steeper. There were no lights here.
There was another scream. Mel was looking for the source. When she found it, she gulped.
A woman--human, dressed in a concession stand uniform-- was pinned to the wall by... well, Mel didn't really know. A big monster. With mouths that came out of its mouths. It looked like a big bug. And it was making noises like a monster, or a demon.
