Harry put up a hand. "Hey, you're not the only one even the Council has branded a freak or a warlock. I've never even heard of a natural necromancer before, so give me some time to catch up. I realize you've been living with this for a while, but what do you say I set aside the grey cloak and you turn down the defensiveness and we try to work this out like the alienated oddities that we are?"
Damn Rashid, damn him! Vague reports were so freaking unhelpful. But now Harry understood why the Gatekeeper had given him this particular assignment. It didn't make him any less annoyed at Rashid, but it quelled a lot of the trepidation he'd felt about approaching a necromancer on his own.
