Marius had been curious about the fair since word of it arriving had spread. He couldn't recall when he'd been to one last but he was interested in seeing just what the appeal was. Now crazy rides weren't exactly his style. If he wanted to fly through the air he could do that well enough on his own, and his way was more fun. But the different people and games, etc., now that was far more fascinating.
He'd dressed less formal than his usual known attire, dark jeans, a thin sweater and his jacket, but there was still an old air about him as he walked through the crowds. Even in the evening it seemed as hustle and bustle as ever.
Rounding a turn he saw the tent marked "Curiosities" and Marius couldn't help himself. After so many, many years, he was still one to be amused by new curiousities. Let the curiosity kill all the cats it wanted, it just left more for him. He pushed open the curtain and blinked as he stepped inside and looked around. His eyes fell on the older man with a pipe and his book sitting there.
