Molly had the chalk firmly in hand as they went further in. She tried not to look into the mirrors, not wanting to draw attention to herself, but things kept catching her eyes. Movement seen just on the periphery made her turn her head, get her heart rate up, pick up her breathing. She'd had enough.
When Jo stopped Molly crouched down to draw a circle on the floor around herself, closing it with a drop of blood from her finger which she knicked open with her pen knife. It felt good to have that power surrounding her so she didn't think about anything bad happening when she stood up.
She had been about to suggest that Jo do her trick with the salt when she saw the other blonde flat out on the floor. Molly sucked in a breath to gather up a quick and dirty spell but it died in the making for what she saw in the mirror before her. There was Jo, smirking at Molly where her own reflection should have been, but before Molly could even think to smash it reflection Jo grinned and lurched at her.
Her world spun violently and Molly crumpled in place, smudging the chalk circle when she fell across it. It was only a few moments later her eyes fluttered open and she groaned quietly as she rolled to her side.
