Ellen ate with a little more finesse than her dad...but only just. She cut the pancakes in half, rolling each one up before stabbing them with her fork, biting chunks of them off like slices off a swiss roll.
She nodded, eyes meeting his briefly before dropping down to her breakfast.
"Sometimes they don't," she answered shortly. "Long as you have the bigger picture, the small crap just gets in the way."
