She'd seen a newspaper as she stormed out the diner, so she knew what year it was now - even without seeing the film poster. Doing some quick mental arithmetic, she sighed. This was already getting way too complicated.
"2049. That's what year it is for me." It didn't sound ridiculous, to her. But walking around in 2011 was still blowing her mind, a little bit.
"I grew up with hunters. I'm not from anywhere. I've never lived in one place more than a few months." Her parents might be settled now, but that had been after she'd moved out, gone on the road herself. She resented that, a little bit. Her sister had a home that wasn't a motel, could make friends...but then that wasn't the life El had chosen for herself.
"Look, can we save the goddamn twenty questions until after coffee and cholesterol?" Her stomach growled as if to back up her point.
