That was a reasonable question, and it caught Molly a little off guard. She had been so used to Murphy being around and involved in all the weird stuff that sometimes she forgot Murphy was just human.
She chuckled and shook her head. "No. She isn't a wizard or anything. Just an ex-cop. My boss used to help her out on the investigations that didn't exactly fall within normal explanations. Y'know. Like the victim was exsanguinated but the M.E. only found two small puncture wounds in the neck. So she's in the know about the things that go argh in the night."
She had gotten a bit of a far off look remembering things she didn't really want to. Murphy had been something of a constant in Molly's life after Harry had died: she had constantly checked up on her, constantly tried to convince Molly to stay with her instead of living on the streets, a constant pain in her ass. But the ex-cop had tried to step into the empty place Harry had left behind. It hadn't been her fault she couldn't fill it enough to keep Molly safe from the Wardens.
