Bill crossed one leg over the other and watched her for a moment. She was interesting. Strange, but interesting. He wasn't sure yet what to make of her. He'd met hundreds of humans over the years. Most had very little effect on him. But every once and a while he was surprised by what he saw. He had a feeling she had surprise potential.
Whether that was a good thing or a bad thing, he was still unsure.
But when she mentioned being a wizard he tensed a bit. Noticeably so. He really didn't like magic.
"Yes, I read about that. But as a cause for a hellmouth? Maybe it radiated some of the hellmouth's energy, but ... it wasn't that old, was it? I don't know. There's just something about this place that feels more ancient. This entire town feels older than it is. Like a layered cake, and we only see the icing on top."
