"Touche." Cavan offered her a close lipped smile. He glanced at the clock. "I should go. I still have to find a place to live."
He thought for a moment, considering the things he had listed for himself in regards to this girl and what he might do with her. He was still undecided. And he thought he might like to keep the avenue open.
"Listen, I don't have a phone yet, but if you have a way to contact you, maybe we could ... I don't know. Hang out again."
She was older, and there was a risk that she wouldn't want to purposefully hang around with a kid who couldn't even legally buy cigarettes and porn, but if he was going to kill her, it would be less obvious if he didn't stalk her. If he was going to use her for cover, this would be a good first step.
