"Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt or suck." Cavan tilted his head, then made a sorry face at her. He wasn't really sorry that he'd brought up pain for her, or made her think more or given her insight into herself. But since he had not yet made up his mind what to do with the girl, he figured it was best to continue to act normal.
"I really am sorry. I seem to have brought you down more. I intended it to make you feel better. Not worse." He shrugged a bit. "You know, give you some kind of strength to see that you didn't need to do that kind of thing."
