A slightly silly question
All right, so, while we're waiting for big fights and major plot points to manifest, I have a question for my fellow Bleach fans regarding Muguruma Kensei.
What do you think about that 69 tattoo?
I mean, all right, we now have a fairly clear indication that Hisagi has 69 on his cheek in memory of Kensei's 69 on his chest. And now the way Hisagi styles his uniform makes a lot more sense, too.
But why does Kensei have one, in the first place?
I suppose it could be random, but that's not very like KT. Usually his details mean something. Heck, even the -108 that the Turn Back arc counted from has at least two possibilities I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe it's the precise number of years ago those events started. Or maybe it's another Buddhist reference, 108 showing up all over the place there. I'm kind of inclining toward a reference to the 108 sins/defilements, given what the arc is about.
I can think of nothing for 69, though, except the risque connotations. Not saying it absolutely couldn't be that, but it seems, um, unusually unsubtle if so.
So, any other guesses?
