Sneaking into Bella's room. If there was one thing I didn't want to be reminded of it was that.
"I only did that once." I felt the need to defend myself. "And nothing...happened. You know, with us. Ever." I felt the need to make that clear for some reason. I wanted Leah to know that my relationship with Bella had been nothing more than friendship. True, I had wanted it to be more but now I could only be glad it hadn't progressed into anything more intimate.
"I'm not uncomfortable," I continued, squeezing her hand gently. "Just nervous, I guess. Sorry, I'm being kind lame. I definitely want to stay with you." I didn't want her to think I was always going to be freaking out over every little thing. It was probably my new position as an Alpha that was making me hyper-responsible. I just had to watch out and make sure I didn't get too neurotic or overbearing. There was always the thought of Sam in the back of my mind, of how he didn't hesitate to use his Alpha voice on any of the pack. I never ever wanted to become like that.
Leah would definitely say something if that looked like it was going to happen though. I couldn't see her keeping quiet about something like that. It was kind of comforting, to be honest. At any rate, it was dumb to be overly concerned about Leah mom. She was one of the nicest people I knew.
We continued walking, hand-in-hand, meandering our way through the forest, getting closer to the Rez and Leah's house.
