Alice obviously couldn't see us coming, so we had to knock on the front door, like normal people. Like the outsiders we were. Leah looked quiet and intense, but incredibly determined. I almost felt sorry for Bella. I hadn't missed her sneer earlier, and I had to admit I felt the same way. The entire house reeked of leeches, and it was putting me definitely on edge. I squared my shoulders. I'd just have to deal with it.
"Try not to...think about us." I whispered to Leah. The last thing I wanted was for Edward Cullen to steal the thoughts from out of my head and make the announcement for me. This was something that needed to be said face-to-face, not announced by a third party.
The door opened, and there was the last person I had expected to see. Edward fucking Cullen. I still didn't like him, but I no longer felt the intense urge to rip his throat out. Much.
"We need to talk to you and Bella." I announced, trying my hardest to control my thoughts. I saw his forehead crease with annoyance and I knew I was succeeding. "Can we come in."
Edward:
I opened the door wider and motioned for the two wolves to come into the front room. God, they stank. And Jacob was holding tight to Leah's hand. Something was going on here but the mutt was keeping his thoughts very well-controlled. What could they possibly need to talk to Bella about? I turned to the other one, the female, hoping for more answers.
