Both my heart and my stomach fluttered madly when he reached for me and kissed me. It was probably one of the most perfect kisses I could ever imagine, especially considering how I wasn't very attractive right now! I hadn't had time to take a shower, or brush my teeth, or anything! It would have been nice to tap into his thoughts, boosting my self confidence in knowing that he found me gorgeous.
There was probably a ridiculously goofy grin on my face when he pulled back, and I couldn't help giggle. Giggle!! This was such madness, I was starting to get all girly around him. There had been a time in my life when I could get this way before, but that had all changed once Sam broke my heart. Now that it was quickly on the mend, it looked like I could once more be a silly girl who got nervous and giddy and flaily over a boy.
"Hmm, yeah, that would probably be a good thing to do," I frowned slightly before pushing myself up from the ground. I made a job of brushing off the clothes that I was wearing, which were now covered in dirt and moss and leaves. I ran my fingers through my hair, checking for any stray leaves or twigs. It was a little too tangled for me to do much of that, so I knew that a shower was definitely in order.
"Still planning on going to talk to them today?" I asked, lifting my eyes up at him. I held my breath, knowing what his answer would be, but wishing it could be different, "We could head to our separate houses, freshen up, and meet back again, if you'd like."
