SUMMER, 1974 HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT & WIZARDRY --- | Dorcas & Marlene
Dorcas had never felt more out of place in her life than she did right then. She was sitting in a classroom at Hogwarts but for the first time in her life it was not as a student. In fact, there were not any students in the castle at all. Part of her had wondered what went on at the school during the summer, after everyone left for the holidays, and now, it seemed, she'd gotten her answer:
Secret meetings.
Dumbledore had left her here to wait. He was good at that. But she supposed it was to be expected. The world outside of these walls was a very dangerous place, indeed. Thats why she was here, really. A lump formed in her throat as the image of her father came to mind. Dead; for no reason, other than he did not have magical parents. When the door creaked open, she sat up straight and craned her head a little. The person entering was not the old man with the playful blue eyes she was expecting. It was not a man at all. It was a young blonde woman who couldn't possibly be any older or younger than Dorcas herself.
"Are you Marlene?" Dorcas asked, not allowing for an awkward pause. Dumbledore had said something about having her work with a Marlene, but she'd expected further instructions first. That wasn't the case, apparently.
