Susan sighed. It was difficult to stay angry with Seamus for long, and she was beginning to doubt whether Lawrence wasn't responsible for the flowers after all. She drew her sleeve back down and sat down next to Seamus on the sofa, leaning against the back of it. "I don't know how he made it through his training," she grumbled, despite knowing that Larry was a Ravenclaw and more intelligent than many gave him credit for. She wasn't feeling very charitable towards him at the moment, however.
"Not in a while," Susan answered, picking at a loose thread on her robe. Whenever she did get a letter from Ryan, they were always greatly enthusiastic, about the dragons and the work he was doing, how much he missed her. But Susan quietly felt that if he really missed her that much, he would have come back already. Or wouldn't have gone in the first place. "It's what he always wanted to do," Susan said softly, unable to suppress a hint of bitterness. "Chasing the vampires and dragons of this world." She wanted to be happy for him, but it was hard.
